Belly Dance for Fun and Fitness – Beginner
Develop your body’s gracefulness and fluidity with the basic movements of this ancient dance form. Figure 8s, the shimmy, the Egyptian walk, snake arms- these are but a few of the creative and fun movements you will learn. Each class will consist of a warm-up, demonstration and practice of the basic moves involved in the dance. Loose, light comfortable clothing should be worn as well as flat dance shoes or bare feet. Join our program popular with women of all ages!

Belly Dance Fundamentals – Cabaret Style Belly Dancing for Beginners
Have fun while getting fit. This class will focus on the basic building blocks of belly dance. From hip slides, figure 8s and shimmies, to rib circles and snake arms, beginners will learn the basic steps for a complete choreography. Each class will build upon technique and form, and progress into choreography and presentation. The style taught is American Cabaret belly dance which allows for freedom in the interpretation of movement – perfect for beginners. Wear comfortable clothes and bare feet or flat dance shoes. Veils will be provided. All body types are welcome. Instructor: Liz Chaisson Thompson
